Tranquil hillside cottage, within walking distance of a lovely French village
Maison Rocher is located a short 5 minute walk from Segur Le Chateau, one of France's 'plus beaux villages'. Positioned up on the hillside this house is instantly charming. Filled with interesting traditional features, all lovingly restored. The interior compliments the external views with calming neutral tones, comfortable furnishings and a touch of style throughout. A one off home in a very unique location which is well worth a visit.
A large, south facing terrace leads through patio doors into the ground floor kitchen-dining room, with an attached utility room. In the summer, the terrace is the perfect area for relaxed outdoor dining.There is also bathroom on the ground floor. The first floor comprises a comfortable lounge with log burner, double bedroom and ensuite shower and WC. There are a further two double bedrooms on the second floor but please be advised, the stairs are steep! The gite has electric heating throughout, although this isn’t usually necessary between May and September.
Interior layout Dining kitchen, shower room and utility room on the ground floor. Follow the original staircase to the first floor where you'll find a nice cosy lounge with wood burner and a double bedroom with 'Jack and Jill' shower room, also accessible from the lounge. From there you can climb a further set of stairs to reach the top floor where there are two double bedrooms. (Please note, there is no bathroom on the top floor)
Exterior Nestled in the countryside surrounding the village of Segur Le Chateau, you can walk to the nearest restaurant in 10 minutes.

Maison Rocher is located a 5 minute walk from the 'most beautiful village' of Segur Le Chateau which is steeped in history and is part of the Route of Richard The Lionheart and enjoys excellent night markets in the summer months. As you explore the streets you will also notice a rich and varied selection of smaller architectural highlights paying witness to past centuries such as the fountains and a cross. The Tourist Office and the Town Hall can give you a map of the village with a suggested route to follow when exploring. Don't forget to look out for the small pottery figures hiding in windows and doorways dotted around the village streets. There are also a selection of good restaurants to choose from in the summer months.
Segur le Chateau is approximately 1 hours drive from Limoges Airport. Other airports that serve the region are Bergerac (Flybe+ Ryanair), Bordeaux (Ryanair. Easyjet+BA), Brive-la-Gaillarde (Ryaniar) and Toulouse (Various). To make the most out of your visit you will require a car not only because there is no public transport, such as trains or buses which will bring you to this charming village, but you must take time out in the car to explore the wonders of this region . Those who wish to drive from the UK, the journey time is approximately 8 hours from Calais.
